4 Costly Mistakes Students Make With Official Notices
Reading the circular is only half the battle. Interpreting MCC rules, free-exit forfeiture clauses, and seat conversion algorithms requires tactical experience.
Virtual vs Clear Vacancies
Virtual vacancies only convert if the currently allotted student upgrades. Filling choices assuming they are guaranteed empty seats can leave you empty-handed in Round 3.
Round 2 Forfeiture Clauses
Exiting an allotted seat in Round 2 forfeits your security deposit (₹10,000 for AIQ Gov, ₹2,00,000 for Deemed). Free Exit is strictly valid only in Round 1.
Unannounced Schedule Shifts
State authorities routinely extend choice locking by 4 to 12 hours without phone alerts. Our WhatsApp tracking ensures you never miss a server lockdown.
AIQ vs State Quota Lockout
As per Supreme Court mandates, candidates who join a seat in Round 3 AIQ are software-blocked from participating in all subsequent state stray rounds.
Decoding Official Counselling Circulars
Answers to the most critical technical questions students and parents face during MCC and State counselling.
What is the difference between Virtual Vacancy and Clear Vacancy?▼
A Clear Vacancy represents an unallocated or resigned seat where no candidate currently holds an allotment. A Virtual Vacancy is a seat held by a candidate who has reported in Round 1/2 and opted for an upgrade in Round 3. If that candidate upgrades to a higher preference, their virtual seat becomes available to lower ranks; if they do not upgrade, the seat remains occupied.
When is my security deposit forfeited by MCC or State CET Cell?▼
Free exit (resigning an allotted seat without penalty) is permitted ONLY in Round 1. If you are allotted a seat in Round 2 and fail to join or choose to resign after joining, your security deposit (₹10,000 for AIQ Government or ₹2,00,000 for Deemed Universities) is completely forfeited. In Round 3, failing to join results in forfeiture plus debarment from NEET counselling for 1 full academic year.
Can I participate in State Quota counselling after getting an AIQ seat?▼
Yes, you can participate in State Round 1 and Round 2 while holding an AIQ Round 1/2 seat (subject to state exit rules). However, once you join a seat in Round 3 of AIQ, MCC uploads candidate data to a centralized national database, and state authorities are statutorily prohibited from admitting you to any state quota or stray vacancy round.
What original documents are mandatory to carry within 48 hours of allotment?▼
Mandatory documents include: NEET UG/PG Scorecard & Admit Card, Allotment Letter generated from MCC/State portal, Class 10th & 12th Marksheets and Passing Certificates, Domicile Certificate (for state quota), Category/Caste Validity & Non-Creamy Layer (if applicable), Migration/Transfer Certificate, Medical Fitness Certificate, and Tuition Fee Demand Draft / RTGS receipt.
